About Me

Hi friend,

Welcome to my page. I’m honored that you want to learn more about me. To start, I grew up in Toronto and then in, what seemed like the other side of the world, San Antonio, TX.  I trained at the National Ballet of Canada and the Boston Ballet, before touring with such artists as L.L. Cool J, Shaggy and Biz Markie. After obtaining a degree in History and French from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, I indulged my love of sets and passion for designing environments with a degree in Interior Design from Whitehouse School of Design in Sydney, Australia. These experiences instilled a deep appreciation for movement and expression, fueling my love for creativity and fluidity. Professionally, I devoted 12 years to Talent Acquisition and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at the global consulting firm McKinsey & Company in Toronto, New York and, finally, Austin. In addition, I launched a women’s career roadmapping platform and community called GrasshoppHer to help women align with their unique impacts. My hope is that GrasshoppHer will disrupt workplace inequities and enable women to achieve more, together.

From my vibrant career in Talent Acquisition and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at McKinsey to the launch of GrasshoppHer and beyond, I've found joy in empowering others to realize their full potential. Here are a few highlighted contributions:

Inspired by my passions and professional learnings, I infuse my approach to coaching, business development and executive leadership with balance, adaptability, and creative vision. Whether crafting customized career strategies, improving business outcomes or helping individuals find their true purpose, I intertwine the threads of my diverse experiences to create vibrant opportunities for growth and success.

On top of my personal and professional interests, I’m a mother of two boys under 5 and three dogs under 8 as well as a partner to my husband Christophe, who hails from France. I have persevered through two economic recessions resulting in career pivots and multiple international moves to such countries as France, Australia and Costa Rica. I waited for the financial stability of being established in my career to become a mom (the jury is still out on whether that was smart. Toddler boys require A LOT of energy) and then measured the risks associated with entrepreneurship and took the leap. I understand the hardships involved in climbing the corporate ladder as well as going to market and growing a business (aka a professional baby). I’ve also experienced the push and pull of being present for those who depend on me at home and at work. Finally, movement, such as dance, running and yoga, has always been integral to my mental, physical and emotional wellbeing and I’ve struggled to fit these in while juggling everything on my plate. However, through study and experimentation, I’ve designed a system to calibrate my priorities so that life works for me… and, hopefully, you as well.

Let's connect to explore how my dedication to empowerment can help you. I want to help you dictate how you show up in life. And, check out my podcast Balanceness where I demystify balance and share tips for staying afloat while juggling multiple balls. I cannot wait to connect. Really, it’s my favorite thing.

Cheers,

Heather
